This made my day:). I was just in my garden with a small bowl sitting on our fence picking our cherry tomatoes. When I was done I was amazed to find just a couple left. As I looked out at my two girls, the 3 yo had chipmunk cheeks and the little 15mo had seeds smeared all over her face. (this is the same girl who won't touch tomatoes at the table). Such fun. You have to love gardens and "sneaky" children.
I call my kids to the garden just like I call my hens at feeding time. All it takes is a single loud "Cherry tomatoes!!" and they both come running, and then point out the ripest fruits for me to pick. Thatcher devours them whole, without a trace. Greta - just like your little one - ends up covered from head to toe in juices and seeds. Love.
I am proud! Proud of my plants, started from seed. Proud of somehow keeping them watered and trellised and somewhat pruned. Proud of the fruits at long last cascading everywhere! And so so proud of my kids, garden-grazers both.
Sweet! I'm surprised Mama got even one!
ReplyDeleteNow that the ripening is fast and furious, I sometimes get more than one. Sometimes.
DeleteAdorable! :-)
