This is bee balm, planted last year in straight composted cow manure, growing this year to a height of six feet and totally crowding out everything else in the bed! I didn't intend to have a massive and solid bank of just one flowering plant, but it sure is lovely... Bee balm is also a medicinal plant and makes a great tea.
I love your beebalm fireworks! My daughter used some in a dinner she made for us, and it tasted quite excellent! I had never thought of cooking with it.
We have them blooming here too, love them!!!
