the uninvited guest

It's been warm here, as if I haven't mentioned that several times already. So warm that I thought I'd open up the house a bit.

A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse, or so they say.

And around here, an open door is as good as a formal invitation.

I love you dearly, Henry, but this will simply not do.

My housekeeping standards might be pretty lax, but honestly, this is just too much. Shoo!

  2. Heehee!! Love that first shot of his foot raised, crossing the threshold...bold creature! Our hens would love to come in to eat up the cat kibble!

  5. He's a beaut, and we don't have roosters coming in the house here, our yard dog would get them!

  6. Love it! We have barn cats that try to sneak into the house (to eat the dog food, no less) but the chickens haven't made it that far... yet!

  8. What wonderful, lovely photos! We have "univited" houseguests (barn cats desperate to be house cats) every now and then too! Thank goodness for screen doors!
